Monte Irvin should be remembered as a great baseball player who helped lead the way for other African - Americans in the major leagues.

I read the one about Andrew Smith, Amiri Baraka, and Monte Irvin. They all talked about how they died at the beginning and they talked about what they did. The one about Andrew Smith was a lot less detailed and was the only one without a quote in his obituary probably because he was a lot less known and was a lot younger. They all end with family members who are still living except for the Monte Irvin one. I don't know why they didn't have that in his.
